The Board of Trustees, Executives and members of the All Nigerian Football Players Union, ANFPU, the foremost umbrella union that unites all current and former Nigerian players around the World, has penned an emotional  congratulatory message to the newly appointed Minister of sports, Senator John Eno, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

ANFPU similarly, heaped plaudits on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for putting clean water in the eyes before selecting Senator Eno for the task of taking sports in the country to the 'next level'.

Describing Senator as a 'round peg in a Round hole', the players union tagged Eno's choice and appointment as 'very strategic' as well as well 'deserved'.

A statement by the General Secretar of the players union, Olisa Onuchukwu, an ex-international player and a frontline Nigerian football administrator, ANFPU emphatically opined that 'Eno's briliant and credible track record' already marked him out as an 'achiever'.

"So what we at ANFPU will do in collaboration with other Nigerian sports stakeholders is to complement his efforts with our support to enable him achieve greater things for Nigeria in the sporting sector".

Onuchukwu, a former Gabros International and later Nnewi United General Manager, would further go to to reveal that ANFPU has directed all her members at home and in the diaspora, especially those in strategic sporting positions, to ignite Senator John Eno support based programmes geared towards providing enabling working environment for the new Sports Minister to succeed.

ANFPU is headed by Abdul Sule as President, Joseph Yobo as 1st Vice President, Julius Aghahowa as Treasurer, Patrick Paschal as Chief Operating Officer, COO,  Chikelue Iloenyosi as Board of Trustees BOT Chairman, also has Friday Ekpo and Ita Egbe as Ambassadors, while current Abia Warriors FC General Manager, Coach John Obu is the second vice President of the players union.
