Emeka 'Hegro' Ogbonna who plies his beach soccer trade with Kebbi Beach Soccer has snatched by newly formed Anambra Warriors Beach Soccer Club ahead the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Series one billed to hold in Kebbi State, April 10-13, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Ogbonna, who scored seven (7) goals for the Copa Lagos International Beach Soccer in 2019, was among the players unveiled by the Anambra State Beach Soccer Association, ASBSA, in Nnewi, on Thursday.

Ogbonna, who was named by FIFA amongst World Top 100 Beach Soccer players will be part of the Anambra Beach Soccer Team for the 2024 National Beach Soccer League tagged Kebbi 2024.

The Anambra Beach Soccer Association, ASBSA, Secretary, Emmanuel Nsoedo, revealed this cheering news at a press conference and unveiling of the Beach Soccer Team at Nnewi.

Ogbonna scooped the MVP award at the CAF Beach Soccer African Cup of nations with Nigeria in 2016.

In 2022, Ogbonna was nominated among the best 100 Beach Soccer player by FIFA in 2022.

During Thursday's media presentation, Nsoedo also hinted that Anambra State has been granted hosting right for the second Nigeria Beach Soccer League in May.

"Beach Soccer League is played across three stages in a season", Nsoedo said.

"Kebbi State will host the first 10-13 this month. Then Abuja takes the next turn in May before Kaduna takes the next turn", Nsoedo explained.
