Barely three weeks after rescuing two siblings from a kidnappers' den, the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS), Anambra State Command, has successfully rescued another kidnap victim—a middle-aged woman, Rosemary Okeke. The rescue took place along the Nri-Enugwu-Ukwu road, between Anaocha and Njikoka Local Government Areas.

Southeast Zonal Commander, Assistant Commander General Mark Okonkwo, reported that the woman was saved on Sunday night after a distress call from a passerby. Speaking to newsmen, ACG Okonkwo revealed that at around 8 PM, hunters received an urgent alert about hoodlums forcing someone into a vehicle on the road.

Upon arrival, the hoodlums opened fire on the approaching operatives but swiftly fled, throwing their victim out of the speeding vehicle. The quick response led to the safe rescue of the woman and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

In a separate operation, the hunters recovered another stolen vehicle belonging to a 61-year-old man, Mr. Christian Ozonyiama, who was carjacked at gunpoint along the Neni-Nimo road.

ACG Okonkwo commended Deputy Commander-General Ambassador John Metchie for his unwavering support in ensuring successful operations in the Southeast zone. The rescued victim and recovered vehicles have been handed over to the police for further action.
