Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman of Anambra State Football Association has commended former chairman of the FA, Chief Mike Umeh, ex Secretary, Sir Victor Nwangwu and former Vice chairman, Barrister JBC Obikwelu, for their selfless service to the game and state during their tenures.
In the letters which he personally signed, the former Nigeria defender acknowledged the efforts of his predecessors in sustaining the game in the state despite difficult times.
The letter of appreciation was addressed to the individual trio and it reads:
"I, on behalf of the executive board members and worthy stakeholders of the Anambra State Football Association, wish to convey our graitude to you, for the time you served in an official capacity within the football family of the state. As well as your service to our state through football.
"You exemplified great leadership skills and attributes worth emulating.
Whenever the discussion on the history of Anambra State Football Association came up, if your name was not mentioned, then it won't be proper and complete. As far as this association is concerned, you made your mark beyond measures when you served as the State FA Secretary.
" You singlehandedly brought sanity to the association by putting into words football ethics and statutes as it concerned the state. You are also the brain behind the longest running State sponsored FA Cup tournament in the whole of Nigeria when you brought in NEROS Pharmaceuticals to sponsor the state FA Cup Almost 20 years later, your pet project is still alive. I can't thank you enough for your great service and tireless contributions in making this association what it is today.
"I will always cherish the advice and guidance you gave me, especially the early days of my administration.
God bless you sir".
