The hierarchy of Heartland of Owerri under the leadership of Emmanuel Amuneke has procured head gear for their Injured midfielder, Ori Elvis, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Elvis was picked a career threatening head injury during a league match against Bendel Insurance and was promptly rushed to hospital where the Naze Millionaires paid millions of Naira for expert head surgery.

After s successful surgery, Amuneke and his management staff ensured that Ori was given the best medical attention by acquiring head gear for him. The midfielder will now become the 'Victor Osimhen' of the NPFL when next he appears in match or training wearing the head gear.

Similarly, goalkeeper Edwin Nwakanma, who was injured in a training session on November 9, 2023 and who has no longer be playing as a result of the injury, has been put on salary list by the Emmanuel Amuneke-led Heartland Management.

"It doesn't matter when the incident occurred. Yes, it wasn't during our time as Management of Heartland but he picked the injury while playing for Heartland", Amuneke said when Exclusivenews.com.ng called him up.

"He hasn't been playing since then. So he needs not be abandoned. He has a family. As a responsible Management and a players welfare oriented one, we had to absurb him into the payroll so he can get something to take care of his family", Amuneke emotionally explained.

He also shed light on Elvis Oris injury, surgery and head gear procurement.

"We're grateful to God that we're able to save Ori's life. We're here to sanitise Heartland, make it truly professional side with human face and conscience. I don't know what would have happened if God hadn't given us the grace to respond to Ori's situation the way we did.

"Ori's injury was on the head, very serious. We got him straight to hospital, did scan, X-ray and had to arrange and secure expert head surgeon who carried out the operation. We spent millions of Naira and to the glory of God, the surgery was successful.

"Today, you can see Ori back on the pitch looking like Victor Osimhen in his 'face-mask' which we acquired for him. And of course, we aren't looking at the cost. We're only concerned about our players careers and welfare as well as their families".

Exclusivenews.com.ng checks reveal that Heartland Players, coaches and officials are comprehensively insured according to the rules and framework of the NPFL unlike previous managements .

As a result of the high risk associated with travels for league matches, players and officials including coaches were comprehensively insured.

Heartland are currently facing unprecedented litigation in the NFF/NPFL Players Statute and Arbitration Panel over contractual breaches. 

These litigation amount to over N127m with former players claiming wrongful contractual dealings and terminations. These issues happened during the tenure of previous managements but the present leadership of the Naze Millionaires are grappling with its gradual settlement at the NPFL.

There are allegations that most of the ex players and their agents are being induced to drag the club apparently in a bid to destabilise the club.

Amuneke admitted that he's grappling with volumes of players litigation against the club running into well over N127m but refused shed more light.

"Truth is, its a fact and the files are there", he tacitly said.

Beyond cleaning Heartland's augean's table, the new leadership of the club is developing the team for tomorrow's sustainability by investing more in the younger players. The Dan Anyiam Stadium now enjoys fresh, green, grass look that has outstayed the dry season. 

Checks reveal that Amuneke and his staff are planning for grass nursery at the stadium from where the pitch will continually be maintained.

The flood light at the stadium is now back to life with matches being played and telecast live on TV at the stadium.

Today, the Dan Anyiam Stadium attracts large turn out each time Heartland play. Business around the stadium is now back to life. All this is because a new order has come.
