An American based Nigerian medical doctor Dr. Ngozika Orjioke has thrown support behind the second edition of late Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Tournament holding in Asaba, Delta State from 11 to 17 December 2023

Confirming this to Exclusivenews.com.ng, the convener of the annual tournament Judith Chime expressed her happiness with the support the medical practitioner is willing to render to ensure that the program which is in its second edition is successful. 

According to her, Dr. Orjioke is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians as well as the American Thoracic Society. She is also a Board-Certified Internal, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician with a wide-ranging and specialized array of experience in clinical and administrative medicine as well as healthcare policy. 

Quoting her words, the former Super Falcons Goalkeeper popularly known as Kamala said "From an early age, her parents ensured that Dr. Orjioke was well travelled and culturally educated. As a young adult, she continued to travel on her own and her vast exposure to different peoples and cultures enabled her to develop her character and compassion. As a medical doctor, those travels and cultural experiences have coalesced into ability to deliver culturally sensitive, specific, and resonant care to her diverse patient base.

"Dr. Orjioke has a diverse educational background beginning with her training as a young student at Trinity School, a co-ed boarding school in South Devon, England. After this, she returned to Nigeria to earn her medical degree. After the successful completion of her MD, she based her early practice in Nigeria—desiring to implement her training in her home country. Later, she then moved her practice to Shepperton, Australia. A seasoned word traveler, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in the United States of America. She then accepted a prestigious fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  She had her medical training in Nigeria, her work and travels in Australia, her residency and fellowship in Chicago". 

Kamala expressed appreciation to Dr Orjioke, while calling on other public spirited individuals and organizations to support the program which is aimed at immortalizing a player who gave her all in the service of the country. She said with this, the second edition of the late Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Tournament will be unique in all ramifications.
