Excitement is building as One Touch FC and New Boys FC prepare to clash in the grand finale of the 2025 AMAC Coaches Unity Cup, set to hold on Saturday, June 28 at the iconic Area 3 Playing Pitch in Abuja.

New Boys FC earned their place in the final after a thrilling 3-1 victory over the spirited G-Medix Football Academy in the semifinal played on Monday. The match opened with an early shocker as Ngbede Sabo of G-Medix FA scored directly from a corner in the 2nd minute, setting the tone for a fierce battle.

However, New Boys fought back, finding their rhythm in the 28th minute through Samuel Abayomi, who netted the equalizer, leveling the game at 1-1 by halftime.

Abayomi, who has been instrumental throughout the tournament, struck again in the 54th minute, putting New Boys in front. Their lead was extended in the 67th minute when Bethel Osuji sealed the game with a third goal, sending the New Boys to their first-ever Unity Cup final.

In the second semifinal, One Touch FC stunned defending champions Gwarinpa United FC with a narrow but decisive 1-0 win, booking their own spot in Saturday’s final and setting up a classic clash between the underdogs and the hopefuls.

According to Kenny Owojori, Leader of the AMAC Coaches Council, the race for the Golden Boot remains fierce, with four players tied at six goals each. The contenders include:

• Willie Passion (Youthful Ballers)

• Samuel Abayomi (New Boys FC)

• Musa Yahaya (Gwarinpa United FC)

• God’s Time Alakwe (One Touch FC)

In a show of growing prestige, FCT FA Chairman Abba Mouktar and members of his board will be in attendance as Special Guests of Honour, highlighting the importance of grassroots football development in the capital.

As anticipation mounts, fans are expected to turn out in large numbers for what promises to be a pulsating finale to one of Abuja’s most competitive grassroots tournaments.
