Owelle Greg Okafor is Aba based business mogul, industrialist and philanthropist, a man who has redefined the  role of private individuals in  socio-economic development, not just in Abia State but in Nigeria.

In an interview with the media, Owelle Okafor reiterated his commitment to society building.

(Q) May we meet you sir?.

(A) My name is Owelle Greg Okafor, am an  indigene of Nsugbe Umunoko Ukpo in Nnewi South local government of Anambra State, am  happily married with six children (four boys and two girls).  I passed through primary and secondary school and I bagged my HND from Abia State Polytechnic Aba (now Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic).

 

(Q) You are a well known individual in the business, hospitality and industrialist sector, tell us more about your contribution in the business sector of Abia State?

 

(A)As a businessman, industrialist  and also an expert in the hospitality sector, I own the franchise right of Oris cigarette, as a businessman am involved in the importation of several exotic drinks and alcoholic beverages, I own over 40 offices across the federation and I have more than 3000 employees. As an industrialist I own a factory where we manufacture footwears and it's accessories. In the hospitality sector I am the CEO of Oris Club and Ibiza Hotels and Resort Aba, am also into property management and warehousing business e.t.c.

(Q) You were the President of Aba Sports Club Aba, what was the experience like?

 

(A) I was the president of Aba Sports Club from 2022 to 2023, during my administration I did lots of jobs, I built so many structures in the clubhouse, as a matter of fact am rated as the best president the club has ever had since it's inception in 1926, even before I became president, I've also massively supported supported the club in so many ways.

 

(Q) Sometime ago it was alleged by some individuals in some quarters that your tertiary education  certificate was falsified, what's your take on that.

(A) During the campaigns before the Aba Sports Club elections, one of my opponent Chief Emeke Diwe accused me of falsifying my certificate so he wrote to the Club and to the school (Abia State Polytechnic). Investigations were carried out and it was discovered that his claims were falls, even the school,(Abia State Polytechnic) called a press conference to clarify the matter. In the end it was proven that my certificates are authentic.

 

(Q) As a parting shot in this interview, what are you saying to your admirers and Abians.

(A) Yes am telling my admirers, Abians and the general public that I Owelle Greg Okafor is committed to society building and I urge all Abians to join hands in supporting the administration of Dr Alex Chioma Otti to ensure he delivers to dividends of democracy to the state.
