The Medical Women's Association of Nigeria has bestowed the Health and Wellness Award upon Dr. Christopher Otabor, the Managing Director of Alliance Hospital.

The ceremony, held in Abuja aimed to honor his significant achievements in advancing health and wellness nationwide.

Upon accepting the award, Dr. Otabor expressed his gratitude, noting that this marks the fourth accolade he has received within the week. He emphasized that this recognition from the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria holds particular significance as it is the most prestigious award he has received from them yet.
He highlighted the organization as the overarching body representing all female doctors in Nigeria, acknowledging their acknowledgment of the hospital's and his own contributions to healthcare and humanitarian efforts. 

Dr. Otabor expressed deep appreciation for the award, viewing it as a source of motivation to continue his impactful work in the sector.

Encouraging his peers and fellow Nigerians of means, Dr. Otabor urged them to extend their compassion to those in need and make meaningful contributions to societal development. 

He emphasized the importance of private individuals and organizations stepping up to complement governmental efforts in addressing healthcare challenges and societal needs.

Reflecting on the event, Zainab Bagudu, former first lady of Kebbi state, lauded the attendance and commended the individuals recognized for their societal contributions. She noted the informative panel sessions and called for continued support from various stakeholders, including the government, civil societies, professional bodies, and colleagues in the healthcare sector. 

Bagudu stressed the importance of nurturing and retaining healthcare professionals in Nigeria to counteract the current trend of emigration due to inadequate motivation and other factors.

Professor Rosemary Ogu, President Medical Women's Association of Nigeria underscored the significance of collaboration and networking in advancing healthcare initiatives. She emphasized the need for awareness of emerging trends and opportunities, urging participants to unite in harmony and support one another, aligning with the renewed hope initiative of the President and First Lady. Ogu expressed optimism that by standing together, Nigerians can collectively drive positive change and enhance the healthcare landscape.
