Ben 'Austria Bomber' Akwuegbu, a former Nigeria international, on Monday, 27 May, proved that though he retired from active football, but hasn't gotten tired nor lost his goal scoring instincts.

Akwuegbu rolled back the years with a master class performance in the FC Global Kickers Charity Match nine-goal thriller against Portmouth Legends inside the John Jenkins Stadium, Moneyfield, Portsmouth.

Akwuegbu who during his illustrious career for Nigeria, represented the country at all the four stages of the national team including U17s, U20s, U23s and Senior National Team, Super Eagles, levels, scored twice in the thrilling contest.

Akwuegbu opened his goal account on the night on the half hour mark, halving the deficit for his side after Pompey Legends had taken a 2-0 lead.

After the half time break, Toni Polster Akwuegbu's twin striker, drew FC Global Kickers level before the eventual winners scored.

The former Nigerian international would go on to grab his brace with sumptuous finish as the game ended 6-3 in favour of Pompey Legends.

Yet, Akwuegbu would steal all the headlines as he was deservedly named the Man of the Match after the Charity Match.
