Akwa United on. Monday compunded the woes of former League champions Heartland of Owerri, when they handed them a two goals to nil defeat at Uyo. The match was one of the Matchday 34 of the StarTimes/ NPFL league season.

Akwa United however, continued their revival in the 2024 Premier Football League  season. 
The Promise Keepers have been having it rough since the start of the season but they’ve been impressive in the last 3 matches.
Playing in Uyo in the final game of the match day 34, the Naze Millionaires produced a magnificent defensive display in the first half as the half ended goalless.
But the host succeeded in breaking their resistance in the 61st minute before Chinedu Ozor’s own goal made the game safe for the Uyo-based side.
The victory further move them out of the bottom 3  while Bayelsa United dropped into the relegation zone.
