The Convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) and President of El-Buba Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet (Amb.) Isa El-Buba, has called for a national moral, spiritual, and political rebirth of Nigeria, declaring that the future of Africa is closely tied to Nigeria’s recovery.

He made this declaration at the “Alone With God” Solution Camp in Pai, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, during a stakeholders conference jointly organised by IBBN, EBOMI, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Addressing political leaders, faith-based intercessors, civil society actors, and party stakeholders, Prophet El-Buba said Nigeria’s crisis has reached a defining moment in its national history, warning that “delay at this time is dangerous, silence is complicity, and inaction is betrayal.”

In his opening remarks, the cleric and social activist emphasised that national transformation begins with citizens, not circumstances.

“Environment does not change people; people change the environment. Whatever happens to a people is ultimately determined by the people themselves,” he said.

He commended delegates who travelled from across the country, noting that the summit itself required enormous sacrifice and resources.

“If this journey was about comfort or personal gain, I would not be here. I could have invested these resources in private businesses, properties, or luxury. But there is no greater way to live than to fight for the present and future of a nation.”

Prophet El-Buba revealed that despite belonging to Nigeria’s privileged class, he deliberately chose to align himself with the masses.

“I saw that over 99 percent of Nigerians are trapped in suffering and despair. I chose to step down from the top of the pyramid to work with those at the bottom.”

He disclosed that he had rejected repeated financial inducements and political settlements from elites seeking his endorsement.

“I resisted the money, the offers, and the settlements so that I could stand with the people and help recover the soul of our nation,” he said. 

Taking a continental perspective, Prophet El-Buba stressed that Nigeria’s destiny is inseparable from Africa’s future.

“Across Africa, nations are watching Nigeria. When Nigeria sneezes, Africa catches cold. The late Nelson Mandela once said that until Nigeria rises, Africa cannot fully rise.”

He noted that Nigeria’s rebirth is vital not only for West Africa but for the entire Black race globally.

“Nigeria will determine the fate of Black people all over the world. That is why Africa is waiting for Nigeria’s rebirth.”

The cleric disclosed that he has held engagements with political leaders in the United States and would soon return for further discussions involving members of the U.S. Congress and other key institutions.

“I told them America needs Nigeria as much as Nigeria needs America. I am not called to be president, but to midwife the birth of a new Nigeria,” he said. 

He clarified that his international engagements are not about soliciting funds but forging strategic partnerships to dismantle what he described as “the darkness over Nigeria.”

Prophet El-Buba painted a grim picture of the nation’s condition, stating that Nigeria is bleeding economically, morally, spiritually, politically, and through deep insecurity.

“We are not here for ceremony. Nigeria is bleeding, and this meeting is about national survival.”

He traced Nigeria’s challenges to decades of leadership failure, weak institutions, and unchecked corruption.

Four Fundamental Sicknesses of the Nation

In a detailed diagnosis, the cleric identified four core problems undermining Nigeria’s stability:

Economic Pain of the Ordinary Citizen
He linked rising crime and desperation to poverty, unemployment, and lack of social safety nets.
“These tragedies did not happen by accident. They are the result of years of poor leadership and policies without human compassion.”

Systemic Corruption
According to him, corruption in Nigeria has become bold, open, and shameless.
“Corruption is not just stealing money. It is stealing hospitals, classrooms, roads, security, and the future of young people.”

Moral and Spiritual Collapse
He warned that when corruption becomes normal, conscience goes silent and truth becomes optional.

“Politics alone cannot save Nigeria. Elections alone cannot save Nigeria. What we need is moral rebirth, spiritual awakening, and restoration of conscience.”

Political Ailments and Leadership Deficit
He called for leaders of conscience who can be trusted to serve the people rather than personal interests.

Despite the grim assessment, Prophet El-Buba expressed strong optimism, describing Nigeria as one of the most gifted nations on earth.

“I have travelled across continents. No country is like Nigeria in terms of resources and human capacity. What Nigeria needs is restoration and order.”

He reiterated that Nigerians continue to excel globally in technology, business, and innovation, proving that the problem is not the people but leadership and values.

The summit, which began earlier in Bauchi and continues across geopolitical zones, is part of a broader movement aimed at mobilising Nigerians toward national renewal.

“This is not an ordinary meeting. This is a defining moment in our national journey. Africa is waiting. History is watching. Nigeria must rise again.”
