The Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) Council has announced a new date for the upcoming NUGA competition, which will be hosted by the University of Jos. The event will now take place from November 6 to 16, 2025.

According to NUGA President, Professor Engr. Mohammed Bawa, the decision to shift the date was made after thorough consultations with key stakeholders. The new date will allow the University of Jos to complete critical ongoing projects, ensuring the smooth running of the Games .

A Memorandum of Action (MOA) will be signed between NUGA and the University Management to formalize the new date. The University of Jos plans to use the NUGA competition as a platform to promote its facilities and establish a Sports Institute .

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya, expressed gratitude to NUGA for approving the extension, stating that the additional time will enable the University to make necessary arrangements and ensure the completion of essential facilities .
