Actress Kehinde Olowo Reveals Husband Joined Nollywood to Protect Their Marriage

Popular Nollywood actress Kehinde Olowo has revealed the surprising reason her husband, fellow actor Saheed Salami, joined the movie industry — not for fame, but to protect their marriage.
In a heartfelt interview posted on Talk2dunnis TV YouTube channel on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Kehinde opened up about how Saheed’s decision to become an actor was driven by love, concern, and a desire to guard their relationship from potential threats in the entertainment world.
According to the actress, Saheed became increasingly uncomfortable with how male colleagues interact with women in the industry and felt the best way to maintain their bond was to be present and involved in her career journey.
“There is no way a man would have somebody like me and not want to protect me from other men,” Kehinde said confidently. “I know I’m blessed, and I’m only saying it to thank God. I know I’m beautiful, and my husband decided to become an actor so I won’t date other actors.”
Kehinde noted that her husband’s move wasn’t just about acting — it was a strategic and emotional decision to strengthen their emotional connection and monitor potential threats within the high-pressure Nollywood environment.
She acknowledged that the film industry can be full of temptations, with some male actors having a reputation for being womanizers. Her husband, she said, was simply unwilling to take any chances.
“Some men in the industry can’t be trusted, and he knows that. So instead of standing from afar, he stepped in,” she explained.
Despite what some may interpret as controlling, Kehinde emphasized that her husband’s involvement in her professional life has actually been a positive force. Rather than feeling restricted, she sees his presence as supportive, loving, and reassuring.
“It has helped our relationship remain strong. I don’t feel caged — I feel supported,” she said.
Kehinde’s revelations shed light on the personal dynamics behind the scenes in Nollywood and highlight the lengths some couples go to preserve love, trust, and unity in a demanding industry.
