Abia Warriors Returns To Umuahia Township Stadium, As NPFL Grants Provisional approval To Stadium
The NPFL has granted a provisional approval to Abia Warriors FC to return to Umuahia Township stadium for their home matches.
In a circular to the club, the Chief Operating officer of the League Body, Davidson Owumi said this followed the observed recent improvements on the condition of the playing turf at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Nigeria Premier Football League however, reiterated that the provisional clearance will be subject to periodic review during the ongoing season to ensure that the NPFL standard minimum requirement is maintained and, or improved on.
Abia Warriors was put on notice that the present structural state of facilities at the stadium cannot receive approval to host any NPFL matches in the next season.
They were further advised to carry out extensive improvement on all components of the stadium ranging from the spectator terraces, changing rooms, television camera stands and the general look and feel of the environment to be more broadcast friendly.
"Abia Warriors must take these stated conditions seriously as it forms an important
part of Club Licensing requirement that must be met to become eligible to play in the NPFL" Owumi said.
