Following an impressive performance over top flight debutants, Kun Khalifat football club of Owerri at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Abia Warriors are eyeing a second consecutive victory as they play host to Warri Wolves at the Umuahia Township Stadium, this Sunday.

It was a soothing relief for the Warriors as they snapped a five-match winless streak, earning a deserved victory in a thrilling encounter against the Premier League toddlers in Owerri, a victory that has boosted the morale of the playing staff, and got the fans savouring the thrill of another overwhelming performance in Umuahia.

As the penultimate games to the end of the first stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League take centre stage across match venues this weekend, the Warriors will look to sustain the momentum as they trade tackles with Warri Wolves in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Meanwhile, their opponents, Warri Wolves, will be out for blood, having been winless in their last two games, and the home draw against bottom-placed Kano Pillars in Ozoro, in their matchday 17 league encounter, did not sit well with the team positively.

And this development has only set the tone for a cracker as the two clash on Sunday.

The Umuahia warlords have averaged 0.82 goals (scored) per game and 0.65 goals conceded, whereas the Seasiders have averaged 0.82 goals (scored) and 0.76 goals conceded.

After 17 games played, Umu Chineke boys are in 4th position on the league table with 27 points, while the Wolves occupy the 9th position with 23 points after playing the same number of games.

Ayodele Ezekiel still remain sideline while Skipper Augustine Njoku is back from injury and he maybe likely to play tomorrow..

Abia Warriors will host Warri Wolves at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday, 21st December 2025, for the Matchday 18 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League. Kickoff time is 4pm..
