Ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigerian Premier football League (NPFL) season, fans of Abia Warriors Football club of Umuahia, have expressed sadness over the current state of the club team bus, describing it as unfit, for a club of Abia Warriors Fc status.

 

Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, a cross section of the fans said, other football clubs in the country, can boast of good vehicles that convey their players and officials to match venues, but same can’t be said of Abia Warriors Fc.

The fans frowned at the current state of the bus, which is currently used to convey its players, describing it as a vehicle that isn’t road worthy.

 

Our correspondent who spoke to Samson Ubani, an ardent supporter of Abia warriors Fc, expressed dismay over the state of the team bus.

“It’s pathetic that Abia Warriors Fc, are still using this rickety bus, which doesn’t match their status in the league, as so many times, the bus is always keeping the players on the road, because it’s old and not road worthy, I plead with the Abia state government to help give them at least two (2) new coaster buses that will help the players and officials perform better”

Another Fan of the club, Obioma Igwillo said, he feels sorry for the players of the club, who travel by road with rickety vehicle.

“Infact, I’ve seen the bus in which they use to travel, I can describe it as “Molu-weh”. It’s unfair for these players to be seen in such a vehicle. I keep wondering why the team haven’t been given a better one, also sometimes, I see that bus breaking down on the road and it’s embarrassing, o just hope and pray that the state government will assist them with new vehicles for optimal production” 

Recall that the vehicles Abia Warriors Fc are using were previously given to them by the outgone administration, and is currently not in good condition, as players have often times complained of discomfort while traveling with the bus.

 

It is believed that the  Abia State government, who are they been supportive of the club since its formation, will  provide at least a 32 seater coaster bus (For the players), a Sienna vehicle  or 14 seater bus (for technical officials ) and a Saloon car (for the head coach), before the league kicks off in August 2024.
