Concerned stakeholders and traders of various markets in Aba have appealed to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to dissolve the current leadership boards in all the markets in the State.

 

The various stakeholders said that the current leadership boards in all the markets in Abia and it's environs have outstayed their welcome as they clearly have no reason to  remain at the helm of affairs at the various markets.

A respondent who pleaded anonymity said "the current leaders of the boards in the markets have clearly lost their popularity, as was evident in the Thursday November the 21st general prayer meeting held at Ariaria int'l market Aba, he explained that the leader of the said market has lost his popularity because none of his board executives  came out to join him during the general prayers simply because they've lost confidence with his style of leadership".

Another respondent from Ekeoha Shopping Center Aba also said they are tired of the current market leaders there as they've brought more displeasure to the average trader in the market than succour, he also urged the Honourable member representing Aba Central State Constituency in the State House of Assembly to desist from meddling into the leadership of the market as that is not what he was elected by his constituents to do.

 

It could be recalled that Governor Alex Otti appointed the current market leaders on temporary basis shortly after his emergence as the State Governor. The massive cries and displeasure of the traders in the various markets has necessitated  the need for an immediate change of guard in the markets . 

The emergence of a new set of credible market leaders would certainly bring sustainable leadership, restore the dignity of the markets in the State by creating enabling environments for trade and commerce to thrive and thus help actualize the mission and vision of Governor Alex Otti which is to bring the dividends of democracy to Ndi Abia.
