Abia Comets of Umuahia claimed their second consecutive victory of the 2024/25 NNL season after being awarded three points and three goals in a walkover against 1472 FC of Lagos, who failed to appear for their Matchday 2 fixture at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Saturday.

After waiting the required 30 minutes for the visitors, match officials officially awarded the victory to the home side.

The result propels Abia Comets to the top of the Conference A standings with six points from two matches.
