Within the week, the League Bloggers Association announced Doma United FC Head Coach Akinade Onigbinde as the Coach of the Month, November 2023.

Onigbinde emerged alongside his  goalkeeper, Kingdom Osayi. Onigbinde edged past last month’s winner, Daniel Ogunmodede, who was also nominated as well as the duo of Lobi Stars’ Eugene Agagbe and Sunshine Stars’ Edith Agoye. 

Onigbinde’s Doma United were unbeaten in six matches played during the month under review, a month they started by claiming bragging rights in Gombe Derby with a 3-0 away win and concluded by sharing points at Remo Stars.

Former champions, Akwa United, Enyimba and Plateau United also all fell to Doma’s superior firepower, with Onigbinde’s side also ensuring they did not concede a goal in the month under review.

Akinade Onigbinde may not have any blood relationship with legend Coach Adegboye Onigbinde, but he hails from Osun State just like Chief Onigbinde. He was born Ibadan, but  started his  primary school at Ansarudeen Primary School Sabo Gari Kano, before his father returned him back to Ibadan, to complete at Adelagun primary School 3 Oja gbo, Ibadan. Urban Day Secondary School old Ife road Ibadan, Saint Patrick's Grammar school Orita Bashorun Ibadan, and he wrote his Senior Secondary school examination at Islamic High School Orita Bashorun Ibadan. 

On completion of his Senior Secondary school examinations, he  proceeded to the National Institute of Sports Lagos for an advance Coaching Course in Football. He attended the Tiki Taka football courses among others. He holds both the CAF C and B licenses . 

Onigbinde is a thorough bred grassroot coach. He saw it all at the local levels before getting to the top. He was the Coach of Suleja United in 2001, Kwali United in 2002, he was an intern at Kwara United before joining FRSC FC in 2010, at the NLO level. He brought the team to  the professional cadre. He spent 12 years in the team before he was engaged as the technical Adviser of DOMA United, Gombe. 

His first year as an NPFL Coach, he led me Doma United to finished Fourth On The League Table.  He was twice nominated as NPFL Coach Of The Month twice in 2022 before winning the award in 2023 season. He won the Gombe State FA Cup  

While in FCT, he won the FCT FA  Cup Winner from 2011 to 2015, NLO Super 8 champions in 2016, FCT Best Coach Of The Year 2016.

Some of the players that have passed through his tutelage include Godwin Obaje, Shama Paul Tanshe, Austin Oladapo, Christian Madu, Nduka Chidera among others.
