One 82-year-old man, Clement Nnamdi Okonjo, don receive 12 years jail sentence after court find am guilty for forgery case wey drag for more than three years.

 

Justice F. A. Olubanjo of Federal High Court for Asaba, Delta State, give the judgment on Wednesday after EFCC, through their Benin Zonal Directorate, successfully prove the case against am.

 

Dem first arraign Okonjo for January 17, 2023, on top four-count charge wey relate to forgery. From the beginning of the case, the old man plead not guilty and maintain say him no do the offence.

 

The trial take time well-well as the case drag, with the elderly man appearing for court many times as dem dey hear the matter.

 

But for final judgment, the court talk say prosecution don prove their case beyond reasonable doubt, so dem convict am and sentence am to 12 years for prison.
