The 5th edition of the AMAC Football Coaches Holiday Vacation Youth Tournament kicked off at the weekend at the Area 3 Playing Pitch in Abuja, bringing together young football talents from across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 

The opening match saw Supertec Academy U13 defeat Eagles Wings Academy U13 by 2–0, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting competition.

 

Speaking after the match, LOC Chairman Emeka Ayimba expressed delight at the level of skill and enthusiasm displayed by the young players.

 

“We will continue to use this holiday vacation tournament to keep FCT young players busy. The council is committed to discovering the next generation of superstars,” Ayimba said.

 

The official kick-off was performed by David Bathlomew, Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (FCT Chapter), with support from Mr. John Aleke, CEO of Supertec Roofing and Tiles Ltd.

 

Other dignitaries in attendance included former Gombe United Technical Adviser and ex-youth national team coach Bala Nikyu, Coach Godwin Bamigboye, Owojori Kenny (Council Leader), Attah Mike (Council Secretary), Otunba Bob Oluwole, Ifeanyi Ubah, and members of the Local Organising Committee.

 

The tournament is expected to run throughout the holiday season, giving young footballers a platform to showcase their talents while engaging in healthy competition.
