The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), His Excellency, Comrade Phillip Shaibu has been commended for laying an enduring structure for sports development in Nigeria.

Speaking to Exclusive News, the National Coordinator of the Nigerian Grassroots Sport Forum (NGSF), Godwin Bamigboye said that within a short space of time, the NIS Boss has been able to actualize  the reorganization through decentralization of the Institute's structure to the extent that each geo-political Zone of Nigeria now has a Campus of the Institution. He observed that this deliberate effort will improve the human capital investment and development that will now serve as the instrument for the identification and training of raw talents that abound in the nooks and crannies of Nigeria. He said this effort by the NIS will indeed boost grassroots sport development and overall sports development in Nigeria.
He commended the visionary leadership of Phillip Shaibu which has also automatically opened job opportunities for qualified Nigerians recently engaged as workers in the Institute.
Bamigboye added that the Federal Government has indeed appointed competent Managers who are  working symbiotically for the  progress of Sports in Nigeria. He didn't mince words to mention Malam Shehu Dikko, Bukola Olopade, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka and Phillip Shaibu who are indeed driving home the realization of President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda in sports.
