Wike Tells Critics to 'Hug Transformer' Over His Work with Tinubu

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed criticism over his appointment to President Bola Tinubu's cabinet, saying those unhappy with his decision should "hug a transformer".

Wike, a longtime member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the only opposition member in Tinubu's cabinet, addressed the controversy at the PDP Congress in Rivers State.

His appointment has sparked debate, with some suggesting it was a reward for allegedly undermining former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the PDP's presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

However, Wike remains unapologetic, stating he has no regrets and is content serving under Tinubu.

His comments come amid political tension within the PDP, as members navigate working with the All Progressives Congress-led administration.
