Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, don open mouth talk why him former oga, Yahaya Bello, no support am to become governor, even after say e promise am before.

 

As Onoja dey talk for one podcast wey dem call Mic On on Saturday, he yarn say Bello sit down with am face-to-face come give am three reasons why e no support am, but carry the governorship baton give Usman Ododo instead.

 

Reason 1 – “You too qualified”:

Onoja talk say Bello tell am say e brain too much for the job. “He say my capacity too high,” na wetin Onoja talk. This one shock am because instead of e qualification to help am, e come turn to wahala.

 

Reason 2 – “Your people no like you”:

The second wahala na say Bello talk say people for Kogi East (especially Igala people wey be Onoja tribe) no like am again because he support Bello wey no be Igala. “He talk say my people dey vex say I support outsider,” Onoja yarn.

 

Reason 3 – “I get better plan for you”:

The third reason na say Bello tell am say better opportunity dey for am for federal level. “He say e get role for Abuja wey he want make I handle,” Onoja talk.

 

Even though the thing pain am small, Onoja say him no get any regret at all. “I no regret working with Yahaya Bello. E give me chance to serve, learn, grow, and even make name for national level,” he talk.

 

Onoja remember say as far back as four years before 2023 election, Bello don dey ginger am make he prepare to take over. E even allow am buy nomination form with other cabinet people. But last last, Bello heart no dey with am – na Usman Ododo e support.

 

“He tell me the truth one day before the primary. I tell am, ’You be oga, wetin you see na wetin I go see, but I just hope say you no go regret this move,’” na wetin Onoja yarn.
