Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali says the Super Eagles World Cup qualifying match against South Africa on Friday is special to him.

This is because it will be the first time the Chippa United shot stopper will be playing for the Super Eagles before the fans in Nigeria.

The former Lobi and Katsina United safe hands won the heart of Nigerians at the AFCON earlier this year with his superb performances at the tournament.

However,  the Super Eagles converge again for a competitive game at th Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Friday.

Nwabali expressed delight as he looked forward to the encounter.

According to him, playing before the fans in Nigeria gives him extra energy to deliver better performance.

He also noted that Super Eagles win against South Africa in Cote d’Ivoire will give the team another motivation to play again on Friday.

"It's going to be a great one for me. I won't say it's going to be a tough game because I am the type that likes to play before the fans. It will give me enough energy." He said

Speaking on the pressure to deliver the ticket to Nigerians, he said, "No pressure. We will just take one at a time. We try to put ourselves together and win this game and move on to our next game.

"No pressure in the camp. The players are training very hard and pushing."

On going to the World Cup for the first time, Nwabali said, "It's going to be a great feeling and for my CV to be honest, I really wish to play in the World Cup. I enjoyed that atmosphere at AFCON, and I really want to test that of the World Cup. I watched from behind last time, and I really want to be part of the team this time around."
