Former Nigerian international, Sam Oguche continues to create ripples across  Nigeria basketball landscape with Sam Oguche foundation which has  created many opportunities for young Nigerian basketballers to learn the rudiments of the game and open vista of opportunities to join basketball colleges in America and other parts of the world.

The foundation has also prioritized impacting the basic ingredients needed by young Nigerian basketballers to thrive in Colleges and NBA.

Speaking at the third edition for this year's Sam Oguche Bullet Energy Basketball Tournament in Abuja, the founder said passion has been the foundation in which the programme is built.

“This is third edition for this year's alone, it takes a lot to be consistent and it is the passion that keeps us going. Having played basketball to the topmost level, I know what this means to this young people which affords then the opportunity to horn their skills and take the game to the next level.

"Eight teams are participating in the tournament. They are: Bulldogs, Peaks, 313 warriors, Hardrockers, Mark Town Flyers, City Chiefs and Defenders. We rejected some teams due to large number of interested teams that wanted to be part of the tournament, we encouraged them to wait for the next edition"

Also speaking, former national team assistant coach, Emmanuel Odah commended  the initiative adding that it has continue to create opportunities for young Nigerian players to learn the rudiments of the game.

“This is a wonderful initiative which has continued to create opportunities for many Nigerian youth to realize their dreams in the game and it is good for the growth of the game" he stated

Results of matches played on day 2 indicate that Mark Town Flyers beat Plateau Peaks 79-66 while 313 Warriors defeated  Defenders Basketball team 78-70 .
The match between Bulldogs  and City chiefs ended in defeat for city who lost by 75 -.80
