The 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament is set to kick off in Abuja, Nigeria, from March 6th to 8th, 2025. Ten West African countries, including Benin Republic, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo, will compete against the host nation, Nigeria.

Nigeria is determined to claim the top spot after finishing third in the previous edition held in Niger Republic in 2023. The country is eager to make a statement as the host nation, especially since the tournament coincides with the 50th Anniversary of ECOWAS.

The ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament has grown significantly since its inception in 2001, with participation and organization increasing with each edition. This year's tournament promises to be an exciting and thrilling event, with the entire sub-region eagerly anticipating the competition.
