The Falconets of Nigeria on Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan walloped the She-Amavubi of Rwanda (The Wasps) 4-0 in the 2nd leg of the African 2026 female world cup making it 5-0 win on goals aggregate to fly into the 3rd round of the African qualifiers. 

The falconets thoroughly drilled the Rwandan babes making their goalkeeper to lie like a wounded Lion on the turf seeking medical attention after the Nigerians had pushed two goals into her net in the first half.

The Nigerians were not done firing relentlessly into the vital areas of the Rwandans with loud decibel noise coming from the stands that included Governor Seyi Makinde and chieftains of Nigerian football who were in Ibadan for their NFF Congress.

Precious scored the 1st goal in the 13th minute and Fatimah made it 2-0 from a stunning free kick three minutes later.

Janet Akakoromowei had scored the 3rd goal with her left foot from outside the box in the 63rd minute while Fatimoh who terrorized the Rwandan defence at will played a quick free kick to Kassiema Oyijouwa to head into the net in the 65th minute before she was substituted but the Gambian Ref disallowed the goal only for super sub Afolabi made it 4-0 at stoppage time. 

The Falconets who got a bye pass to play Rwanda in the 2nd round of the qualifiers will now meet the winner of the Senegal versus Algeria 2nd round match in the 3rd round of the African qualifiers whose 1st leg will be decided 6, 7 0r 8th February 2026 and the 2nd leg to be played 12, 13 or 14th February 2026. 

Nigeria which has appeared in all U20 world cup finals had piped Rwanda by a lone goal in the 1st leg in Kigali.

The 4th round matches that will decided African representatives at the Poland world cup finals will be decided 2, 3 or 4th May 2026 with the 2nd leg on 8, 9 or 10th May 2026. Rwanda had beaten Zimbabwe in the 1st round to meet a hard obstacle in Nigeria that ousted the from the competition,
