Vivian Ikechukwu Scores First Goal for Santos Laguna in 3-1 Loss to Pachuca

Nigeria forward Vivian Ikechukwu opened her goal account for Santos Laguna in their 3-1 defeat to Liga MX Femenil leaders Pachuca on Saturday.
Myra Delgadillo put Pachuca ahead in the 11th minute at Estadio Corona, but Ikechukwu leveled the score in the 34th minute with a brilliant solo effort, sprinting past two defenders before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper.
However, Pachuca captain Veronica Corral restored her side’s lead in the 82nd minute, and Andrea Pereira sealed the win three minutes later.
Ikechukwu, who recently joined Santos Laguna from Cruz Azul, was substituted in the 81st minute. Fellow Nigerian Chinwendu Ihezuo was replaced in stoppage time, while Osinachi Ohale played the entire match for Pachuca.
Pachuca remains atop the table with 25 points, one ahead of Club América, and will host Necaxa on March 4. Santos Laguna sits 16th with three points and faces Querétaro on March 5.
