It was deeply emotional for the first time as we reflected on the valedictory Sermon/speech delivered by the founding and pioneer Chaplain of Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy, federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri, the Ven. Barr. Dr. Ugochukwu Ekeocha.

As yesterday, the 4th day of January 2026, marks his final day of service in Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy as he proceeds on transfer.

Ven. Ugochukwu Ekeocha has served in Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy faithfully for over two decades (about 23 to 24 years) since the establishment and inauguration of the chaplaincy in the institution. 

He built the chaplaincy from the foundation, he nurtured it with vision, sacrifice, prayers, and dedication. 

Today, Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy can proudly showoff a magnificent auditorium (a cathedral standard ), and the largest chaplaincy in the entire Federation both in structure beautifications, Standard and in numerical strength of members.

Within this long period of service, he touched lives, transformed souls, and built bridges of faith, love, and unity. You laboured tirelessly, and the fruits of his labour were an evident in the church of God.  

They Student/Member (s) were happy and thank God on the Assignments he used him to do all this years, and pray that as God used him mightily here, he's oil won't go dry as he continues his ministration in the new place of assignment..

Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy Old and New Student/Member will greatly miss his services he has render over this decades...

The Church by nature, is a work in transition, and though change is inevitable, the bonds we have built, the relationships we have shared, and the memories we hold remain unbroken.

Today, members of Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy find it difficult to let go, but we have to because duty has called, and We pray that you will continue to do great exploits in the ministry, just as you have always done. 

Your legacy in Praise God Anglican Chaplaincy will never be forgotten, the footprints you have left here are indelible and evergreen. Generations yet unborn in this chaplaincy must know your name and hear your story.
