One United States District Court don sentence Nigerian man, Ridwan Adepoju, to 43 months (over 3 years) for him role inside plenty online fraud wey target Americans and their businesses.

According to di statement, Adepoju and him gang dey operate from Nigeria, where dem run different kinds of cybercrime — like phishing attack, romance scam, and fake tax return filing.

 

Dem take fake email addresses, social media accounts, and even use “money mules” (people wey unknowingly help move stolen money) to carry out di fraud.

 

Ridwan, wey be 33 years old, later get arrested for United Kingdom and dem extradite am go U.S. for 2024. For March 2025, he plead guilty to federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

“Ridwan Adeleke Adepoju and his co-schemers do cyber fraud from Nigeria, target individuals and companies all over U.S., including people for Chicago.”

 

Judge Matthew Kennelly, wey be U.S. District Judge, na him sentence Ridwan to 3 years and 7 months for prison after him guilty plea.
