UNIZIK Don and a foremost Professor of Chemical Engineering in Nigeria, Engr. Prof. Okechukwu Dominic Onukwuli is set to deliver his valedictory lecture as he prepares to bow out of active academic service for Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The valedictory lecture titled, "Reminiscences of a Chemical Engineering Teacher: Triumphs, Tribulations and Takeaways," will hold on Friday, 14th February, 2025 by 10am at the Needs Assessment Building, Faculty of Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The upcoming valedictory lecture will be chaired by Chief (Engr.) Okechukwu Martins Onovo; Chief Host is UNIZIK Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu; Host is the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Engr. Prof. Solomon Nwigbo while the Chair of the planning committee is Engr. Prof. Matthew Menkiti.

Prof. Onukwuli was the pioneer Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and has held the position of the Dean of the Engineering Faculty and the Headship of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on numerous occasions.

The scholar and seasoned academic administrator has had a profound impact on the Nigerian academic community, wich has yielded impressive successful supervision of 47 Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and 65 Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) students both in the institution and beyond.

Prof. Onukwuli's dedication to academic mentorship and guidance has helped in shaping the careers of numerous accomplished scholars in the country and beyond.
