The Senate of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina don expel 57 students wey dem catch for different different exam malpractice.

 

Na for the Senate 125th Regular Meeting dem take reach this decision, based on wetin University Central Examination Misconduct Committee (UCEMC) recommend give dem.

 

One university spokesperson tok say before dem carry this kain heavy decision, the committee first do proper investigation across many faculties inside the school.

 

No be only expulsion happen — another five students chop suspension (rustication) for two semesters for the 2024/2025 session. All the exams wey the five write for that time don cancel patapata.

 

The statement wey the school release no mention exactly the kind malpractice wey happen, but e still show say two other students just collect official warning letter wey go remain for their academic record forever.

 

UMYU tok say this action show say the school no dey smile with exam wahala, and dem go continue to stand gidigba to protect academic standard.

 

“UMYU go continue to fight anything wey fit spoil the image of the school or reduce the value of our education,” the statement talk. “We dey beg students make dem follow rules well well and avoid any bad behavior, because anybody wey try am again go face serious punishment.”
