UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, don cause plenty discussion for social media after him stand gidigba for the statement wey him make say na white man write the Bible, but him still believe say make people dey ask questions if dem really wan understand their faith well.

 

As him dey preach for one sermon, Adegboyega talk about the criticism wey follow the statement. Him explain say even though people dey argue about wetin him talk, the Bible still remain the main authority for wetin him dey teach.

 

“People talk say I say na white person write the Bible. I talk wetin I talk, but we still dey use am. The Bible, the scripture, na the authority wey we stand on,” he talk.

 

According to the pastor, critical thinking important well well if person wan get real spirituality.

 

“You never see movement of young people for hundreds wey dey speak and preach from the Bible every day,” he add.

 

Adegboyega also explain say when him dey grow for faith, him take time question and examine the Bible so that him go really understand the word of God.

 

“I probe the Bible so I go know the word. I no go accept something wey I no fit question. I no wan be like our parents’ generation wey no dey ask question, so dem no really know,” he talk.

 

The cleric still criticise the way some people just dey follow religion without asking questions, say that kind thing fit make country dey religious but spirituality no really dey inside.

 

“Our parents create religious country wey no get spirituality. We read the Bible and we do wetin dey inside am,” he add.

 

Since then, people for social media don get different opinions about the statement, as some people support wetin him talk about understanding the Bible deeper, while others no agree with him views.
