Two Nollywood Actors Die Mysteriously After Owerri House Party – Police Launch Investigation
Two Nollywood actors have tragically died under mysterious circumstances after attending a house party in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on Friday. The actors, whose identities are yet to be officially disclosed, were said to have joined the gathering following a film shoot.
According to emerging reports, the victims consumed rice, wine, and a drink known as Calypso during the party — all of which were allegedly provided by the movie’s director.
Sources revealed that the director had retired early but woke up later in the night to switch the power supply from a generator to the public grid. It was then he discovered the two actors lifeless, while two other guests were found in critical condition.
A Facebook user, Kaito Karisia, who shared details of the incident online, noted that the two survivors — both men — are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Owerri.
The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the incident. Police spokesperson Henry Okoye stated that the matter is being treated as a suspected case of unnatural death and that investigations are ongoing.
“The Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a full-scale investigation, including autopsies on the deceased, to determine the actual cause of death,” Okoye said.
He also disclosed that the movie director and three women who were present at the party have been taken into custody to assist with the investigation.
The police assured the public that the probe would be thorough and transparent, adding that the outcome will guide further actions.
