Two Men Land for Trouble After Court Ruling Spark Violence for Ondo Community

Police for Ondo State don arrest two men wey dem say cause wahala for Eki/Oboto community inside Ilaje Local Government Area, after land matter turn fight following one court judgment.

 

Di two suspects — Ogunsemore Gbadebo and Michael Ogunsemore — no gree accept the Court of Appeal ruling wey happen for Akure on June 20, 2025. The judgment confirm say the traditional ruler of Aboto, HRM Oba Oyetayo Ofoaye, get the authority over the land wey dem dey drag.

 

But instead make dem respect court decision, police say dem two go gather armed thugs come attack people for the area. During the violence:

• Huts scatter

• Palm produce and property destroy

• One man, Jeremiah Okuntimehin, chop machete cuts

• Plenty residents run commot for their houses

 

Police spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, talk say the suspects don already enter court, and dem still dey find others wey run after the attack.

 

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, warn say dem no go allow anybody use force take fight land matter or disobey court judgment.

 

“If court don talk, make una respect am. Any attempt to use violence go carry serious consequence,” na so CP Lawal talk.

 

E still beg community people make dem calm down, follow law, and work with police. E assure say enough security go dey the area to maintain peace.

 

The CP still hail IGP Kayode Egbetokun for him leadership, and thank Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for supporting peace and calm across the state.
