Tonto Dike Appears In Court
Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh, along with her bodyguard Gbenga, has been ordered to appear in court for alleged assault and criminal trespass. According to court documents, the pair is set to face charges on August 24, 2024, at the Chief Magistrate's Court, Wuse Zone 6.
The case, filed by Elvis Abuyere, CEO of Skyewise Group Limited, stems from a disputed car purchase. Dikeh had purchased a Changan Uni-K 2023 model from Mikano Motors through Abuyere's dealership, with an agreement to pay the balance in installments. However, she allegedly failed to meet the payment deadline, leading to the car being retrieved.
Dikeh later made partial payments, leaving an outstanding balance. When she brought the car in for servicing, the company requested the remaining payment. Instead, Dikeh and her companions allegedly forced their way into the business premises, committing criminal trespass and assault.
The incident resulted in property damage, disrupted business operations, and threats to harm the complainant's reputation on social media. The court summons requires Dikeh and her bodyguard to answer to the charges against them.
