The Archbishop of the Mount Zion Mission Incorporated, Dr Asuquo Okon, has assured Nigerians that the nation’s later days shall be greater than the former with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

Okon, who is also the General Field Superintendent of the church, gave the assurance on Sunday, on the sideline of the 77th Annual International Convention of the church, held at the church Headquarters, Oron in Akwa Ibom State.

The convention is with the theme; ‘The later glory of this house shall be greater than the former’,  taken from the book of Hagai 2:9.

He said the convention theme was informed as a tool for the unity of the church, following so many challenges it has faced for 18 years which had also affected its growth.
While expressing the joy of the church unity, the cleric related the convention theme to President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, assuring that there is hope for Nigeria to rise from its present challenges, considering such an agenda by Mr president.

“The nation’s governance is passing through a very hardship condition, but if the glory of God comes in, things will be better than what we see today.

“As we are expecting the church to rise by the glory of God, so we are also expecting the nation to rise, because if it is well with the country, it will be well with all Nigerians including the church of God, ” he said.

He, nevertheless, advised Nigerians to turn a new live, saying that we have offended God in so many ways as a nation, thereby separating us from God which had also contributed to the numerous afflictions we are going through.

Okon also advised president Tinubu and other government officials to look unto God and try to amend certain decisions which could affect the country positively so as to attract God’s glory to the nation.

He expressed optimism that there is still hope for Nigeria to come out of the present conditions full of challenges.

Also, Bishop Efiong Amana, Deputy General Superintendent, said Nigeria needed God’s glory in such a time like this.

“This nation needs the glory of God’s intervention and all Nigerians need to embrace the glory of God.

“When we all come out, repent of our sins and then turn a new live, believing in the Lord, the glory of God will return and according to the theme of our convention, the later glory will be greater than the former.

According to Amana, Nigeria had been known as a very prominent nation in Africa and across the world in terms of oil boom and other mineral resources but today, people scarcely talk of the reaches of Nigeria, hence Nigeria needs the return of God’s glory.

“If all of us will embrace God faithfully, the glory of God will return and it shall be well with Nigeria, ” he said.
