"Tinubu Working Hard To Improve Nigeria's Economy"... Aiyedatiwa
The Executive Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has come out clear, saying that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing his best to grow the Country’s National Economy.
The Ondo State Governor, Honourable Aiyedatiwa stated the above on Saturday while speaking through his representative, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Honourable Wale Akinlosotu during the 1st Public Lecture/Treasure Newspaper Distinguished Personality Award 2024 on the topic titled: “Home Grown Economy As Road Map For Economic Sustainability: Examining The Prospects Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration”, held at Solab Suites located along the Federal University of Technology, FUTA, South gate road in Akure.
Aiyedatiwa in his message at the event commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to revitalize the national economy, emphasizing that “we all have work to do to grow the Country’s economy.
He acknowledged the global challenge of inflation, noting that Nigeria is not immune, but expressed optimism that the country can do better.
Also, speaking with reporters at the end of the event, the representative of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Honourable Wale Akinlosotu praised the President’s commitment to economic recovery.
He highlighted Ondo State’s willingness to collaborate with the Media and concerned bodies to campaign against corruption.
However, Governor Aiyedatiwa disagreed with imposing death sentences as punishment for embezzlement, emphasizing Nigeria’s status as a nation governed by laws. He believes existing legislation is sufficient to handle cases of fund mismanagement, making capital punishment unnecessary.
Earlier, the Governor represented by the Commissioner of Information, in the State, Mr Wale Akinlosotu, congratulated Treasure Newspaper for the initiative describing it as “beautiful and the first of its kind”.
He reiterated Ondo State’s media-friendly stance, expressing willingness to collaborate with Treasure Newspapers and other media outlets to promote public discourse.
The public lecture aimed to foster dialogue on economic sustainability was well attended by dignitaries, media professionals and concerned citizens.
