The Objectives Of 2023 Abuja Veterans Invitational Football Tournament Achieved… Unity Nosa
Vice Captain of All Stars International Abuja, Unity Nosa Oseghe says the objectives of 2023 edition of Abuja Veterans Invitational Football Tournament have been Achieved.
All Stars International Football Club emerged champions for the third time in a row after beating 10-man Gwangwalada All Stars FC 2-1 in a keenly contested encounter that took place at the Main Bowl of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
Nyanya All Stars won the third place match after beating Apo Fitness Football Club 2-1.
Speaking with Journalists during the closing ceremony of the tournament, Vice Captain of All Stars International Abuja, Unity Nosa Oseghe believes the objectives of the tournament were Achieved.
“Let me first all tell you that it is a great joy that we have won the tournament for the third time in a row, it is a thing of joy to us at the All Stars International Abuja. I say congratulations to my team especially, and of course to all the participating teams, it was a huge success”.
“The objective of the tournament is to bring players who have played football in the past together and to be active and not to be kept behind. It is organized to bring our selves together fraternize and do business and triumph together and the objectives have been achieved”.
Mr. Nosa also described the tournament is a unifying factor as it is bringing players, teams together.
“As you can see, after the match both the winners and the losers came to embrace each other. Our opponents came from different places and if not for this tournament we wouldn’t have met. The tournament is a key unifying factor, we shared contacts and after football we will meet and do many things together”.
The All Stars International attacker further expressed satisfaction over the performance of his players despite not scoring many goals against their opponent who played the entire second half with 10 men.
“We give glory to God for scoring two goals against our opponent. At this age running 40 minutes is not easy so I can say my team did well even though we did not score 4 goals”.
Correspondent Olukayode Raymond reports that 16 teams across the FCT; Nyanya All Stars, Like Minds All Stars Football Club of Kuje, Gwangwalada All Stars FC, Ex-professional Players, Corporate Kickers Sports Club, Jabi All Stars, MC Steve FC, CC FC Old Timers of Gwangwalada, All Stars International Football Club, Lugbe All Stars, Games Village FC, Capital Sportif, Unity Sports Foundation, Apo Fitness Football Club, Kuje All Stars and Selected All Stars, took part in the Abuja Veterans Invitational Football Tournament.
