Teenage sensation, Austine Ebikemiebornimughan made history by scoring for Delta Marines FC against NPFL side, Lobi Stars, in their first ever participation in the national rounds of the Federation Cup held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on May 1st, 2024.

Austin pulled one back for Delta Marines FC to ensure that the game went into the half time break with Lobi Stars leading 2-1. Austine scored a beautiful volley during the Quarter-Final match and a hat trick in the Semi-finals of the State Preliminary rounds and has scored two goals for Delta Marines FC so far in the ongoing Nationwide League Division One.

The young Delta Marines side also parading several teenagers including their third choice 17-year old goal keeper held on until an injury in the 70th minute to defense stalwart, Iyare Godswill left cracks in the back line that led to a floodgate of goals from Lobi Stars attackers Emma Daniel, Mojereola Suleiman, Kumasa Suur and Imenger Barnabas, ensuring that the former NPFL and Nigerian FA Cup champions defeated Delta Marines FC 6-1.

The other representative from Delta State, Warri Wolves advanced against Lautai FC by a 5-1 margin on Thursday, 2nd May, 2023. 

The winner of the President Federation Cup will secure a ticket to represent Nigeria in CAF Continental Cup competitions.
