Nigeria forward Taiwo Lawal was the star of the show as she netted five goals to help her Turkish Women’s Super Lig side, Unye Kadin, demolish Cemekoy 15-0 on Sunday.

 

Lawal, a former FC Robo Queens standout, opened the floodgates by scoring the first three goals of the encounter. Nehir Zeytunlu extended the lead to 4-0 in the 15th minute before Ulza Maksuti grabbed a first-half hat trick to compound Cemekoy’s woes.

 

Another Nigerian, Joy Bokiri, also shone brightly, bagging a first-half hat trick as Unye Kadin went into halftime with a commanding 10-0 lead.

 

The onslaught continued after the break with goals from Thuany Gomes, Cansu Iris, and Ayshan Ahmadova pushing the scoreline to 13-0. Lawal then capped off the emphatic win, scoring her fourth and fifth goals in the 69th and 79th minutes respectively.

 

The victory ended Unye Kadin’s frustrating nine-match winless run. The team now sits 10th on the league table with 20 points from 24 matches.

 

Unye Kadin will round off their league campaign with crucial fixtures against Karadeniz Eregli and Trabzonspor.
