Nigeria has announced a strong 28-man Super Eagles squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, featuring a blend of established stars and exciting emerging talents across all departments.

 

The goalkeeping department will be marshalled by Stanley Nwabali of Chippa United, Tanzania-based Amas Obasogie of Singida Blackstars, and Cyprus-based Francis Uzoho of Omonia FC.

 

In defence, head coach selections include Fulham’s Calvin Bassey, Hull City’s Semi Ajayi, Birmingham City full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, Olympiakos defender Bruno Onyemaechi, Chidozie Awaziem of Nantes, FC Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi, Slavia Prague centre-back Igoh Ogbu, and Blackburn Rovers right-back Ryan Alebiosu.

 

The midfield sees a rich mix of creativity, energy, and versatility with Alex Iwobi (Fulham), Frank Onyeka (Brentford), Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge), Tochukwu Nnadi (Zulte Waregem), Italy-based duo Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (Lazio) and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (Pisa), and Israeli-based Usman Muhammed (Ironi Tiberias).

 

Up front, Nigeria boasts a potent attacking line led by Atalanta’s in-form winger Ademola Lookman, Fulham star Samuel Chukwueze, and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen. They are joined by Paris FC winger Moses Simon, Sevilla duo Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams, Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu, Panathinaikos striker Cyriel Dessers, and Croatian-based youngster Salim Fago Lawal of NK Istra 1961.

 

The squad announcement underscores Nigeria’s ambition to challenge strongly for continental glory in Morocco as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament.
