Super Eagles new kid on the block, Fisayo Dele Bashiru, says he can't wait to make his senior national team debut in front of his 'home fans', Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The 23-year-old Hatayspor of Turkey midfielder spoke ahead Super Eagles 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification clash Friday inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

"This is my first time of coming home in 20 years and it gives me a great feeling coming to play in front of my home fans", starts stoutly built midfield enforcer.

"This is my home and I've that strong 'home feeling' if I get the opportunity to play in the game against South Africa.

"It will be nice to play infront of my family, my dad, my mom, friends mean a whole lot to me".

Bashiru says its amazing being selected from amongst the over 200m Nigerians.

"Nigeria is blessed with talents. With over 200 million people, its great to be selected".

He further hinted that Finidi George and his backroom staff are great job in knocking the team into shape for the games against South Africa on Friday and Republic of Benin next week Tuesday.

"It has been an amazing atmosphere here in the camp. Everyone is working hard towards the games.

"Coach Finidi (George), the fitness coach and the entire coaching staff are working hard on the team to ensure a strong team on Friday.

"That's the objective, to work hard and win the games, starting from Friday's match.

"That (a win) will boost the team going into the next game in Ivory Coast against Republic of Benin.

"We're optimistic, confident but it gonna be one game at a time", Bashiru submitted.
