Sunshine Queens Appoint Roseline Obamuyi as Team Manager Ahead of NWFL Premiership Return
Sunshine Queens FC of Akure have officially appointed Roseline Obamuyi as the club’s new Team Manager, marking a key step in their preparations for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.
The announcement was made via a press release by the Ondo State Football Agency Media Manager, Michael Akintunde, confirming Obamuyi’s elevation to the crucial leadership role within the club.
Obamuyi is no stranger to Sunshine Queens, having built a long-standing relationship with the team over the years. Her past roles include Curator, Welfare Officer, Coordinator, and Secretary, positions in which she earned the admiration of players and management alike for her calm demeanor, dedication, and result-oriented approach.
Her appointment comes at a significant moment for the Akure-based side, who are looking to make a strong impression on their return to Nigeria’s top-flight women’s football league after securing promotion earlier this year.
Sunshine Queens remain proud custodians of Ondo State’s only major football title — the 2015 Federation Cup — a milestone the club is eager to build upon as they seek to re-establish themselves among Nigeria’s elite women’s football clubs.
Obamuyi’s leadership is expected to play a vital role in the club’s efforts to compete at the highest level, both on and off the pitch.
