As Nigeria prepares for the last laps of the World Cup qualifiers, members of the Senior Men's National team, Super Eagles have sent a message across to various groups of the Supporters club in country, to either unify themselves as one, or stay away from all matches involving the team. 

A source at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation told exclusivenews.com.ng that the players spoke through a senior member of the team to the Nigeria Football Federation saying that the proliferation of Supporters Club in their matches is becoming a source of distraction and embarrassment to them.

According to the source who is supposed to know, in the Federation, "after our matches at the AFCON, a member of the team walked to the management of the NFF and intimated of the need to for the Supporters to unify themselves into one. This they said will bring unity of purpose and motivate the players on the field of play. What we have now is a confused setting all together. It is ridiculous that you will find over four to five supporter's clubs singing different tunes at the same time, in the same venue in a match. It is always confusing ".

Our source went further to revealed that the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation has been meeting with the various groups of the Supporters Club, and telling them of the need for them to come together as one for the interest of the country.

As at now, there are about 5 different Supporters Club groups in the country, with all attending the matches involving the various national teams.
