Notable names like Olamide, Odumodublvck, Blaqbonez, Zlatan, and Ice Prince dominate the charts, showcasing the genre's immense popularity in Nigeria. Spotify's data reveals that Nigerian Gen Z listeners (aged 18-24) make up the majority of hip-hop streams, followed by those aged 25-29. Males constitute the majority of hip-hop enthusiasts, with 75 percent of recorded streams. Nigerian hip-hop's influence, dating back to the 1990s, continues to shape the country's music landscape, attracting a new generation of fans. This trend underscores hip-hop's enduring appeal and cultural authenticity in Nigeria's music scene.
