Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Achakpo, has been released from police custody after two months. His lawyer announced the news on Instagram, thanking everyone who helped secure his freedom.

Speed Darlington was arrested on November 27, 2024, during a performance in Owerri, Imo State, reportedly due to an alleged verbal attack on Afrofusion star Burna Boy ¹.

Following his release, Burna Boy sent a strong warning to Speed Darlington, stating that if he "misbehaved" again, he would end up back in detention, but this time with no mercy.

Speed Darlington's lawyer has vowed to explore every legal angle to ensure he receives justice for his "fundamental human rights" being deprived by the Nigerian Police Force and for the "unfair/unjust treatment" he faced.
