SPECTATOR: A LETTER TO VICTOR OSIMHEN
By Godwin Bamigboye.
I am writing this letter to you as an intervention to the either positive or negative image your recent video might have attracted.
I can see that some people have applauded your position. A lot of people have also condemned your action. Whichever way it goes, I believe that whatever is good is good and whatever is bad is bad. No human is perfect. Only the Almighty God is perfect.
I want to remind you that God has exalted you among the many talented professional footballers in Nigeria currently to the extent that you are the reigning African Footballer of the Year (AFOTY). You have been honoured by Napoli FC and by their fans worldwide. You are loved by many Nigerians and by your fans even beyond the shores of Africa. You have attained a social status that should be maintained. I must inform you that your recent video comments run contrary to your current exalted status.
It is however understandable that this could be a mistake. This mistake can be corrected. The correction will indeed build back and even bigger, the respect that has been eroded from you.
I therefore recommend that you take a swift action to do the following things:-
1. Apologize to Coach Finidi George;
2. Apologize to your fans Worldwide;
3. Apologize to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF);
4. Engage a Public/Human Relations Manager to help you manage your public affairs.
Finally, don't be moved by the negative gesture of those applauding your action. They could be agents positioned to bring you down. Your name is Victor. God has exalted you and given you victory. I believe more victories are coming. Don't punctuate the victories ahead. Position your self to realize them.
This is my sincere position to you, Victor Osimhen.
Thank you.
